Baptisms in Revitalization
In November of 2020, Steadman Baptist Church began the revitalization process in partnership with the Lexington Baptist Association. Just two months prior, interim pastor Johnny Rumbough baptized seven individuals, which was more than the last five years combined. In May of 2021, Pastor Neal Smith was called to lead the church. Since then, the church has celebrated five additional baptisms. Four children were baptized after making decisions at Vacation Bible School last summer, and another baptism was celebrated this month with a new family joining the church. Pastor Neal says that he’s “in awe at the way that God continues to use this once-dying church to effectively reach its community.”
