Michael and Melissa Rains

Feature Date:

Michael and Melissa have served with IMB for 21 years. They first served along the coast of Kenya among the Digo People, engaging Muslims with storying and through a Heroin detox facility. They are grateful to have seen Digo come to Christ and national partners grow in their love for the Digo community. Michael and Melissa now live and serve in Nairobi, training nationals who are called to serve as cross-cultural missionaries. They train them in strategies and tools for the field. They have 4 children, two attending universities in the States and two still in high school in Kenya.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for those that God is calling from Kenya to serve. There are those who are called but don’t yet have a pathway or finances to serve. Others need training or more supportive churches. The Rains believe that the God who God has these Kenyans will also be faithful to provide for them all that they need. Pray for the gospel to go forth!
  • Please pray for Michael and Melissa as they prepare for stateside assignment. Theur family will be in different places for the month of November, and their daughter will need to continue three weeks of school on-line while traveling. They have many moving parts as well as some very important family commitments during this time. Pray for them to have their joy in the Lord and commit all their ways to Him in this busy season.
