Keith Matthews

Keith is from Piedmont, SC, and has served in Isaan, Thailand for three years. There are 19 million Isaan people. They are 98.1% Buddhist with evangelical Christians making up only 0.27% of the population. Isaan is largely a rural rice-based society, with a large number of the people living in poverty. Many rely on subsistence farming for daily food. Keith serves on a team with four couples, seeking to plant churches in regions with no gospel witness. The team currently has groups in about eight different villages/areas.

Prayer requests:

• Praise God for the churches and small groups already meeting in Isaan. Pray that God would protect and grow these groups. Pray that they would be discipled well and be bold witnesses of Jesus.
• Pray for Don Mot Daeng, a district within Isaan with no churches or known Christians, as Keith will be moving there in May. Pray that God would lead him to a person of peace, soften people’s hearts to the Gospel, and that God would open the door for the team to plant the first church there.
