DR Units Needed in TX, Iowa

In Iowa, relentless rains in late June surged river levels to record-breaking heights, breached levees, and impacted thousands of homes. Mud-Out units are needed to give families help and hope in the town of Spencer, northwest of Des Moines.

Hurricane Beryl caused tree damage and flooding in Texas. SC has been asked to send chainsaw units to Huffman, which is on the northeast side of Houston.

The Iowa response will go throughout July and August. It is yet to be determined how long the Houston response will be, but several weeks at the very least.

DR Volunteers: contact your Unit Leader about your availability, and start packing! If you need help getting connected to a unit that is deploying, email the DR Office at disasterrelief@scbaptist.org.

Unit Leaders: contact your team and let Sue Harmon know your available dates.

Everyone: pray for the people affected by these disasters, for the first responders, for the Disaster Relief teams from various states that are already serving, and for those making plans to serve. Pray that God will be glorified and people will be drawn to Him.
