Cola Wars “pops” for Kershaw County students
In the Kershaw community, First Baptist Camden’s “Cola Wars” is known as the best 3 days of summer.
Cola Wars, an annual, Christ-exalting, high-energy, fun experience, was held July 22-24 at Camden High School, with 600+ middle and high school students participating.
At Cola Wars, over 100 adults volunteer to serve the students as they are divided into two cola-themed teams and engage each night in thrilling, field-type activities. Each evening is filled with dynamic speakers and worship.
While students come with a goal in mind to win games and activities, ultimately having their team named champion at the end of the three nights, the goal of First Baptist Camden is to win students for Christ.
“We see the importance of giving every student in Kershaw County and beyond the opportunity to hear the Gospel.” Clint Ellis, First Baptist Camden’s Minister to Students stated. “This year’s Cola Wars led to 28 students making a profession of faith and 64 other students indicating they wanted to recommit their lives to Christ.”
