Disaster Relief Operations Manager

The SCBaptist Disaster Relief Team is looking for a full-time, Operations Manager onsite in Columbia, SC. The Operations Manager will assist the Disaster Relief state director to plan, coordinate, and implement all aspects of trainings, protocols, and response efforts for volunteers throughout the state of South Carolina.

Planning – Developing and communicating preparedness plans for disasters.  This includes SCBaptist protocols and deployments in SC, regionally and nationally. 

Coordinating – Working with partners from SCBaptist churches, associations, SC county and government agencies to coordinate emergency responses.

Training – Assist with developing and leading training courses and disaster exercises for volunteers.

Communicating – Providing updates to partners regarding trainings, deployments, and other pertinent information related to Disaster Relief through all media channels.

Making decisions – Making timely decisions, often in stressful situations. Operations manager needs to have strong communication, critical-thinking, decision-making, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
