Connecting Student Ministry Leaders over Lunch

In the bustling world of student ministry, it’s easy to become isolated.

Recognizing this, SCBaptist introduced Student Ministry Connect Lunches as a means of fostering unity, networking, and shared growth within the student ministry community.

The recent Student Ministry Connect Lunch held at North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia had 22 student pastors and leaders in attendance. SCBaptist leaders Bryant Laird, Associate Director of Students, Ricky Wilson, Next Generation Evangelism Strategist, and Charlie Swain, Next Generation Mobilization Strategist, discussed the topic of productivity in student ministry.

Why Attend?

The Student Ministry Connect Lunches provide a forum for student pastors to connect with their peers in the region, creating a support network of like-minded individuals. Additionally, these gatherings serve as an information hub, allowing student pastors to stay updated on local network events and happenings.

“We believe it’s healthy for student pastors to know their counterparts in their areas,” Bryant Laird said of the gatherings. “It’s also a small way for us to thank student pastors who work hard to reach the next generation with the Gospel.”

Upcoming Dates and Locations

The Student Ministry Connect Lunches will continue throughout the year, offering more opportunities for student pastors and leaders to connect and grow together. Here are the upcoming dates and locations:

  • September 12: Greenville – First Baptist Church Simpsonville
  • September 14: Clemson/Anderson – Bishop Branch Baptist
  • September 26: Rock Hill – North Rock Hill Church
  • September 28: Florence – Ebenezer Baptist
  • October 3: Charleston – Restoration Community Church

By connecting with peers, staying informed, enjoying a meal, and participating in learning components, attendees can build a stronger, more vibrant student ministry community in South Carolina.
